I have the concept of Thinkers’ Delight plastered in my About page, but it is only right that I post an entry to explain its concept and aim more thoroughly.
The concept of Thinkers’ Delight is to place a short paragraph at the beginning of certain posts to allow readers to have an idea of what to expect in those entries. Why is it called Thinkers’ Delight? I googled the phrase “Thinkers’ Delight” and found that this concept appears original, which is what I wanted. Moreover, it differs from an abstract as it tends to be largely in the form of thinking questions. The aim of Thinkers’ Delight is to probe readers into deeper thoughts, and it serves the function of allowing readers to resonate with the content.
The decision to introduce this feature is also partly to evolve with time. Times have changed. Everyone has 24 hours a day but a seemingly increasing number of tasks competing for our time. Not every individual can afford the luxury of reading each and every post in a blog. Most end up skimming through entries to pick up relevant news that is of interest to them. I hope that the introduction of Thinkers’ Delight will improve readers’ viewing experiences at skoyu.com.
It is my intention to continuously improve readers’ experiences at skoyu.com, and I will introduce more features in my quest to achieve this goal. What do you think of the concept and image design of Thinkers’ Delight? I welcome your valued constructive comments and feedback. =)
